Pigeons with Roses Mold – Shaped Plaque, Perched Pair

Two pigeons perch shoulder to shoulder along a branch, tails swept back to the left, their breasts worked in fine scalloped feathering. Underneath, a spray of open roses, tight buds and broad leaves fills out the lower half and follows the cut edge, so the whole piece reads as a silhouette rather than a disc. The rose centres are the deepest point on the carving — get those filled first and the rest of the pour follows easily.
